Personal Challenges

Personal Challenges To Support Your Journey

Each of these challenges and experiences tap into different parts of ourselves. Find one that resonates with you. Then, try another.

GRATITUDE

Create a list of 100 things you are grateful for. Add to it. Grow it to 1000. Become aware of the beauty that surrounds. Be grateful for it.

DANCE

Allow all thoughts to dance away and feel the music pulse within you. Move to the rhythm. Freely. Passionately. Playfully. Dance when there is no music playing and dance when it’s bumpin’. Dance in the car and in the kitchen. Dance when walking and maybe even when talking. Release every thought and belief you hold and immerse yourself in the moment as you move to the music.
Spend a week dancing more then you’ve ever danced in a week.

LEAVE NO TRACE

The turtle wags its tale as it strolls on the sand, erasing its footprints as it goes. The turtle cleans up after itself, moving slowly, methodically, leaving no trace. Moving like the turtle is great practice in remaining present, aware of our movements, and our environment, always leaving things better than we found them.
Spend a week consciously observing the trail you leave Observe yourself and leave no trace.

KINDNESS

Commit one random act of kindness per week, for a month.
Reflect upon the practice. Notice how it feels. Keep it going.
You can never have too much kindness. The more you bring in the better.

YEARS OF PUSHUPS

Do your age in pushups (most) every day.
This practice can become a lifelong pillar of physical health.
I look forward to doing 100 push ups a day at 100 years old.

MAN IN THE MIRROR

Take a deep look at yourself. What are your flaws? What are your triggers? What do you need to work on. Where can you grow? Create a list of all the flaws you can gain awareness of. Pick 2 or 3 to start working on. Create an action plan. Implement. Improve.

NON DOMINANT HAND

Use your non dominant hand as an entry point to awareness. Two great times to use it are brushing and eating. Simply remembering to use your non dominant hand takes a level of mindfulness. But more so, when you use our your non dominant hand, you are on less of an autopilot mode, shifting you closer to a state of awareness. Use this as a practice in present awareness.

DO SOMETHING NEW

Once a month, do something you have never before done. Sometimes they’ll be epic life changing experiences, other times, they’ll be pleasant little presents presented by the universe in subtle moments of unplanned beauty.
Seek new experiences. Learn from them all.

COMFORT ZONE

All growth occurs outside of our comfort zone. Start stepping outside.
Get comfortable being uncomfortable.
