OB Hardware

In March of 2019, I purchased OB Hardware with Mike DeEmedio. Established in 1919, OB Hardware is the oldest store in our community based beach town. When the previous owners announced that the store was shutting down, we stepped up to save it. We restored the old time feel and turned the store into a community space, holding free live music every Sunday, offering classes, and holding community events.

Soul Charter School

As Co-Founder and CEO of SOUL Charter School, we became the first school approved by the San Diego County Office of Education in over 15 years!

SOUL is a public, middle and high school, with a holistic focus, based on helping students connect with their life passion and purpose.

SOUL partners a project based curriculum, with an integrated holistic program, to create a revolutionary model of education.

Ocean Beach Junto

Benjamin Franklin started the original Junto in 1727 as “a structured form of mutual improvement”. The original Junto founded the Public Library, Volunteer Fire Department, and University of Pennsylvania. Three hundred and ten years later, I brought together an amazing group of men to begin the OB Junto. Together, we work to improve ourselves and the world around us.

Second Saturday Celebration

It spent a year as the “First Friday Fire with Friends” before moving to Saturday’s and rebranding as the “Second Saturday Celebration”. The monthly pot luck is a space for our community to gather and celebrate our human experience.

There is a monthly pot luck theme, with home brew, kombucha, and sparkling water on tap, great music, fantastic people, and engaging conversation.

OB Brewers Guild/Front Yard Brewery

As one of the founding fathers of the OB Brewers Guild, we have built a network of local home brewers who collaborate on techniques, strategies, and ideas, while holding quarterly brew fests.

I also own and operate the Front Yard Brewery.

Agape Sanctuary

Agape is the first legal plant medicine church in San Diego. I sit on the board of directors and facilitate at retreats as we bring the teachings and beauty of these sacred sacraments to those who are called.
